Houston Moving Guide
Moving may be complex, but at N.C. Texas Moving, we strive to make the process as simple and stress-free as possible. Whether you’re handling some of the stages of your move yourself or you’re relying entirely on your movers, there are some things you should know to better prepare for the big day. The relocation process is outlined in our moving guide below:
- Preparation:
After you request an in-home estimate from our movers, your personal Relocation Consultant will arrive for your appointment. He or she will note the items you need packed and moved and will advise you on our services. From there, your Relocation Consultant will help work out the details of your move and provide a free estimate. - Packing:
You can choose to pack yourself or N.C. Texas Moving can assist with full-service or partial packing, according to your wishes. We will create a detailed inventory of all your items before we load them onto our trucks, tagging each box or carton for easy retrieval later. - Inventory:
Once your items are packed and tagged, we will prepare an Inventory & Condition report for you to sign describing the condition of every item prior to moving. We will also ask you to sign a Bill of Lading, which authorizes Allied Van Lines to transport your items (during long-distance and international moves) and receive your payment. - Delivery:
Your driver and Move Coordinator will remain in close contact with you until delivery is complete. We request that you be present to see that all belongings are delivered safely, and to pay before we unload our trucks. Most movers accept cashier’s and traveler’s checks, money order, and credit cards. Personal checks are not accepted. - Unpacking:
You can choose to unpack yourself, or N.C. Texas Moving can unpack your items for you.
